The 4-0 win at FC United of Manchester was the club’s first National League North victory since December.
Even if they were to win each of their last six games, they can only match Guiseley’s 37 points.
Because they have such a weak goal difference it’s nearly impossible but manager and chairman Ginnelly knows there’s to be no escape.
“I’m chuffed to bits for everyone with the way it’s happened,” he told the club’s YouTube channel. “If we got beat, we went down - and if the results went against us we were down anyway.
“It’s all about the club at the moment. We deserved a win from somewhere and to do it in the surroundings, I’m so happy for the lads.
“I’m going to sit down with the chairman tonight and as If I can have a pay rise!”
He added: “They didn’t recover from us going 1-0 up. It was the perfect day at the office - apart from the relegation!
“We were right at it, and it was such a positive way to go out.
“We are starting rebuilding now for next season. That was for everyone and for everything they have had to put up with this season.”
