The Romans sit just two points outside the National League South play-off places and reacted well to just a second defeat in 10 against Eastbourne on Tuesday.
Speaking to Bath City Radio after the game, Gill said: “With this group, I’ve noticed that we tend to bounce back really well after we lose a game.
“It’s a great response, it’s such a convincing win and it could’ve been more actually. I picked a team with a lot of experience and there’s a nice blend in there now.
“I wasn’t overly pleased actually at half-time. I thought that we were a little bit loose at times out of possession and I didn’t think our shape was good enough – that’s me being ultra-critical of them.
“We knew going into that second-half that there would be opportunities for us, it’s a big pitch here. I thought that it was an excellent all-round performance.”
As games go, they don’t come much tougher than against the league leaders, with Havent & Waterlooville next to visit Twerton Park.
Gill is looking for his side to build some momentum as they enter the final seven games of their league campaign.
“We now need to build on it because we’ve put ourselves in a good position and some of the results have gone for us.
“There’s no better game than against top of the league against Havent in the next game.”
