Gayle Gunning For Promotion As The Cards Get Their Man

The new Cards boss has make inroads to sharpening up the club’s defence.

Woking have signed central defender Ian Gayle - a player Dowson has high hopes for.

It certainly won’t be the last new face at the Laithwaite’s ahead of their National League South campaign.

The former Dagenham, St Albans and Braintree player will add much-needed steel to the Surrey side.

The manager told the club’s website: “I've known him a long time, he came to me a few years ago when he was a young kid at Dagenham.

“I think we need his pace & his power in the squad.

“There was a couple of clubs that came in for him so we're delighted to get him. I saw him play last season against Hampton & Richmond, he did very well and I went to see him play at Havant & Waterlooville and thought he was excellent.

“I just think we need a bit of pace & power in the side, plus a lad who's played Football League games and got experience at this level.”
