Gas Forward Becomes A Loan Tiger

Gloucester City have announced that young striker Rhys Kavanagh has joined on a month`s loan from SkyBet League One neighbours Bristol Rovers.

Kavanagh is a 19-year-old forward who scored 28 times in thirty-two appearances for Newport County’s under-18 side before crossing the bridge to join Bristol Rovers in October 2017 and has since gained National League experience on loan at the Tigers` league rivals, Bath City.

On his arrival, manager Marc Richards told the club`s official website: “It’s great that we’ve been able to bring Rhys in, we’ve got a lot of games in the next month, so he gives us that extra bit of squad depth. We know he’s a natural finisher and has come in to bolster our attacking options. He trained well with the team Thursday and will be in the squad tomorrow to face Chippenham Town”.
