Garrard’s Boreham Wood beat Blackpool last Saturday in the FA Cup first round to make it no defeats in eight.
Hartlepool are second in the form guide and the winner of the game at Meadow Park could find themselves in the play-off places come 5pm tomorrow.
Garrard believes Pools are one of the strongest teams in the league and said his players can’t think that just because they beat a former Premier League club a week ago that they’ll be able to be at anything except 100 per cent.
“Hartlepool will be one of out toughest tests of the season,” said the manager. “We want to build on the Blackpool result, but we’ve got to make sure we don’t think that’s just going to happen after last weekend.
“We’re both on good runs, we’ll be playing for the win and I’m sure Craig (Harrison) will be thinking the same.
“We’re unbeaten in eight and we’re playing some good stuff at the minute - we’re in good form but of course we’re playing a side that are on a really good run themselves."
He said to the club's media player: "Nobody is taking the bull by the horns this season it seems. Hartlepool are a big club at this level - the started slowly but they’re getting to grips with this league now, you can see that.
“We’re going to be strong in every single position because we know how good they are.”
