The 19-year-old striker signed for the Wood this afternoon from Peterborough United as he looks for more regular football.
And Garrard admitted that the signing was easy to complete due to the fantastic relationship he has with the Posh.
“Peterborough and Barry Fry have been fantastic and the relationship that my chairman has with Barry Fry is unbelievable because the deal was done within a matter of minutes.
“I am excited because he is a talent, I have had him in today and already seen glimpses of why he got the move to Peterborough.”
Kanu has been at Peterborough since the summer of 2017 when he caught the eye whilst he was playing for Aldershot.
“I remember him really, really clearly, when we played Aldershot Town away and he has carried the ball 80-yards and then gone and got his goal," Garrard added.
“If he can offer that up for me, for this football club, and for his teammates, I would be very excited about the prospect he is. He’s now at a period, where he needs to go and play games of football."
The Wood have also moved to sign winger Sean Shields on loan from Ebbsfleet United.
Both could be in line to make his debut for the Wood tomorrow against Dagenham & Redbridge.
