Garrard Frustrated As Good Start Doesn't Lead To Victory

Boreham Wood boss Luke Garrard says his side didn't take advantage of the good start as they drew 1-1 against Maidenhead United.

After taking the lead with just a few minutes gone, they couldn't kick on and in the end left with a point, writes Tom Feaheny.

"I felt we didn't go with our plan of high-tempo, I felt the goal we conceded was poor," Garrard told the club's website.

"To be honest we left Hartlepool thinking we deserved the win, we didn't against Maidenhead and they delivered a reaction and it is two points dropped.

"To score within a few minutes should have seen us kick-on and it didn't, they could have taken all three points at the end."

Garrard says he now wants a reaction after three draws in a row.

"Now we have to take part in a big game, we need to get the W it is as simple as that, we have all worked really hard now we need to not be dropping more points."
