Gardiner: Harriers Fightback Shows Right Spirit

The Harriers were a goal down against Alfreton Town but were able to gain all three points after coming back.

Matt Gardiner says the way the side fought back showed the progress the side are making, writes Tom Feaheny.

Goals from Joe Ironside and Elton Ngwatala proved to be enough for them to gain all three points.

Speaking after they made it three wins from their last four games, Gardiner said.

“We ask for patience from the players, the supporters and everybody because we’re one club and we want to get back to those performances at home that made Aggborough a fortress.

“We are looking to try different things to get the lads on the ball in certain areas and we’ve got a lot to do – there’s no hiding away from that – and we’re making little steps every week.

He also spoke about the importance of the home support at the Aggborough.

“When we got the goal today and the fans were behind the team it was fantastic.”

“In the second half, when we settled down and started moving the ball around, you could see the game opening up.
