Fylde's Montrose: Coasters Must Not Dwell On Defeat

Lewis Montrose says the game against Dag & Red is the perfect way for the side to respond after their loss to Maidenhead United

After a 4-1 defeat at home on Tuesday, the Coasters are searching for their first win of the season as they host a Dag & Red side that are currently fifth in the table, writes Tom Feaheny.

Speaking to the club's website Montrose spoke about the importance of the next match.

“We want to win football matches and we haven’t done that yet this season so we have to try and put that right against Dagenham and Redbridge at the weekend.

He added “We are looking forward to it very much. They are a very good team and I expect them to be right up there, but it’s a good chance to see where we are at against one of the better teams in the league.

“I believe that we can beat any side in this league on our day and we have to start proving that.”

Montrose got his first goal for the side in that defeat and said he wanted it to mean the side picked up a result.

“It was good to get off the mark on a personal level but the result is always the most important thing and it wasn’t great. We dust ourselves down now and go again. We can’t dwell on it.
