Frozen Pitches Means Games Start To Fall

By Sam Elliott

This morning we have already seen a number of matches involving our clubs called off.

The big chill continues to cause problems with the football as players are left to put their feet up.

The only game of the day in the National League South has fallen - Hemel Hempstead Town vs Chelmsford City required a new date after an 11am inspection.

In the Vanarama National League North, Curzon Ashton’s trip to North Ferriby cannot go ahead.

The FA Trophy first round has also seen a number of disruptions.

Blyth Spartans v AFC Telford United fell foul of an early morning pitch inspection.

A frozen pitch also put paid to Spennymoor Town v Gainsborough Trinity, FC Halifax Town v Macclesfield Town and Gateshead v Guiseley, Chesham United v Weston-super-Mare. All five will try again this Tuesday.
