Frecklington Praises Character Shown By His Side

Gainsborough Trinity have drawn at York City then beat Spennymoor Town away in the FA Cup in recent games.

After going a goal down on Saturday, Trinity equalised through a fine strike by Ashley Worsfold before winning the game thanks to a late Ioan Evans effort, writes Tom Feaheny.

Speaking to the club's website after the victory, Frecklington was full of praise for the side.

"We showed great character and quality to come back and get the win, we made a few changes in the second-half

"It is all about getting through, to get that late win shows what we have in the dressing room. It was important to back that draw at York up with a win here and we have done just that."

After two losses they have since gained a good away point and progressed in the FA Cup but Frecklington knows it is important not to get ahead of themselves.

"The main thing is we don't get carried away, we have put in two good performances before that we had two poor ones so we know we just have to keep it up, I couldn't be prouder of this side."

Frecklington also spoke of the importance of Nathan Jarman and how they are having to protect him.

"He's our captain, a massive player for the club, we have to wrap him up, he has a problem with his knee so we have to keep him safe, we know how important he is to our side."
