Frecklington: Hard Work Needed For York Trip

Gainsborough Trinity travel to York City after two disappointing results.

Dave Frecklington says he knows how tough the league is and facing teams like York is no different from the other sides in the league, writes Tom Feaheny.

They travel to Bootham Crescent looking to get back to winning ways, speaking to the club website Frecklington said.

"We want to compete every week, with the calibre of teams you face, you have to be at your best every game, whoever you face, we travel to York, knowing we will roll our selves up and try and get something from the game.

"For the eight games prior to losing to Bradford Park Avenue we have done really well, a part from a half against Leamington, we need to get back to those earlier performances."

Having taken four points from games against North Ferriby and Spennymoor, the Blues have then lost to both Bradford Park Avenue and Alfreton Town.

“All you can do is put it down to teams being better than us. You can analyse it as much as you like but the simple fact is that we were beaten by two teams who were better than us in every department.”

“Apart from a crazy 15-minute spell, the game was pretty even. Both teams had chances and we started really brightly."

Gainsborough take on Spennymoor Town in the FA Cup this weekend after their league fixture.
