Frecklington Fronts Up As Trinity's Struggles Continue

Frustrated Gainsborough Trinity boss Dave Frecklington admits he needs to do some “real soul searching”.

Trinity went down 3-0 at Leamington on Tuesday night and remain second-bottom of the National League North.

The Lincolnshire outfit are only two points adrift of safety but they have lost four of their previous five League outings.

Frecklington says too many of his squad are currently underperforming but concedes that the buck ultimately has to stop with him.

He told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: “I won’t hide behind anything or anyone - I’ll take the blame because it’s my job to get results.

“We’re not getting the rub of the green, we’re not getting results, we’re not scoring and we’re conceding really poor goals. It’s just not good enough all around.

“There are too many players below par. The ones I expect to stand up and perform every week aren’t doing it.

“There are good vibes in the changing room and I believe the players can get us out of this situation but something isn’t right. I need to do some real soul searching because this can’t keep carrying on.”
