A clean sheet and with results going their way elsewhere means it was a good night for the Lambs who are now four points clear of the drop zone, writes Tom Feaheny.
"I thought the application of the group was brilliant, I told a few home truths, they delivered," Fowler told the club's website.
"We have set a new standard after that, good in defence, we should have won it really."
"The attacking play was done well, we had chances got into the areas and that is again something we can build on."
Fowler says the support of the side was key to them getting the point, he urged they all continue for the match against Harrogate Town.
"The fans want a team that is giving it their all, they did as well, the songs were great, it lifted me, if we all stick together we can get the points we need."
