Four-some! Our National League Sides Are FA Cup Picks

By Sam Elliott

There’s some great news for our National League clubs as four sides are picking for live FA Cup coverage.

The first round weekend starts in Hereford as 2008 winners Portsmouth pay a visit to Edgar Street.

The action gets underway 7.55pm on BBC2.

Then on the Sunday afternoon three of our sides fall into focus.

It’s the all National League tie between Wrexham and Oldham, kick-off at 12.30 live on ITV.

Both clubs won their replays on Tuesday night - edging into the next round after a lot of drama in both ties

Then at 3pm Torquay United host giants Derby County in a mouthwatering match at Plainmoor on the same channel.

As well as huge crowds, the news brings further financial good news.

The live broadcast fee for the first round sees each club secure a cheque £50,000 in addition to payments from the competition’s prize fund.
