Foulston Is A Bluebird After Praise From Welsh Boss

Mark Collier's latest signing came with a pretty impressive endorsement, the Chippenham Town boss admits.

Left-back Jay Foulston signed for the Bluebirds on Thursday morning, joining from Newport County for the season.

A Welsh Under-19 international, Foulston currently plays under former Cardiff City and Bath City left-back Paul Bodin when he links up with the national team.

And after discussing the 18-year-old with Bodin, Collier admits signing him was a no-brainer.

“Prior to his signature I discussed him with Paul Bodin his international coach who speaks highly of him and Paul certainly knows a thing or two about left backs," Collier told the club's website.

"Jay is a highly rated left back and certainly has a bright future ahead of him having made his senior debut as well as being capped."

Chippenham Town get their 2019/20 National League South season underway against St Albans City on August 3.
