The Fleet enjoyed a successful first campaign back in the National League, finishing sixth before beating Aldershot Town in the play-off eliminator.
They were undone at Tranmere Rovers in the semi-final and McMahon took a lot from the defeat at Prenton Park.
"When you look at their two forwards (Andy Cook and James Norwood) and the two wide players, that was the difference,” McMahon told Kent Online.
"They've got 49 goals between them and they're two good players, proper players. Their movements and power is good, they work hard and make it difficult for you.
"That's somewhere we can improve if we can get the right one at the right price. We're certainly in the market for a couple of strikers.
"It's been a good season but there's lots we'd like to improve on. To try to do what we did this year next year is going to be hard as well, let alone go past it but we'll try.
“We have to build on this and keep moving the club forward.”
