Forward Norwood Says Tranmere's Goals Will Come

By David Richardson

Striker James Norwood has backed Tranmere Rovers to start finding the net following a slow start in front of goal.

Rovers have only bagged three goals from their five National League games, having picked up five points in the process.

Their opponents Boreham Wood tomorrow have had no problem in the final third, netting 13 times to see them joint-highest scorers with Aldershot Town.

Micky Mellon's side bagged 79 goals on the way to the play-offs last season, and Norwood has no concerns that their impressive frontline will soon click.

He said: "It's important for us to get a result. I think if we do get one, it comes around quickly for Monday so if you take six points from the weekend then that puts us right back where we want to be.

"We've worked really hard this week in training and worked on what went wrong. There's no need for crisis at the minute. We're showing in spells what we can do, it's just about putting them together for a longer period of time and scoring goals.

"It's very rare that all the strikers go through a spell like this. We had people scoring week-in, week-out last year and the year before. It happens in football but it just takes one goal - you find the net and then you don't stop missing."
