Football's Coming Home! Chester Get Council Green Light

Chester have confirmed their match this weekend with Bradford Park Avenue will go ahead at the Swansway Stadium.

It brings to an end a nightmare three weeks for the National League North club.

Chester have been forced to postpone a number of matches after storm damage destroyed parts of the ground.

Games against Kidderminster Harriers, FC United and Hereford all had to be re-arranged after.

Water leaked into the club’s control and PA room, leaving the East Stand without electricity and unable to run CCTV and the PA system.

But they have now been granted a safety certificate following an inspection at the stadium on Thursday.

Chester have thanked fans for their patience and put provisions in place to play the game at Macclesfield Town had the certificate not been granted.

The Blues need a home game and have won just once so far in their five matches.
