Flowers Wants Perspective But Hails 'Metamorphic Turnaround'

Tim Flowers says the hardest part of Solihull Moors' season so far is maintaining the high standards they've set themselves.

Flowers' men lost for the first time in four games on Saturday as they went down 2-0 at Barnet.

And although the ex-England international says his side were poor on the day, he has called for perspective.

"I’m disappointed as it was a chance for us today to come and really exert ourselves and put some pressure on Barnet," he said."We failed to do that, so it was disappointing."

"We’re 15 games in and have 28 points. Sometimes expectations all of a sudden mean that we are disappointed but we’ve also got to realise where we are and who we are.

"There’s been a metamorphic turnaround in Solihull’s form and I think we have to accept that it can’t always happen. We’re not just going to rock up and magic wins all over the gaff.

"We need to calm down and take perspective - we've had a wonderful start and the hard thing in this division is to maintain that.

"But there’s a long way to go this season and we have to maintain our standards a little bit better than we did today."
