Ebbsfleet United defeated the league leaders to move to within just one place of the top seven.
Hill hasn’t talked-up his team’s promotion chances but they will find themselves in the play-off spots should they defeat Sutton United next Saturday.
Having taken over with the club 15th in the table, his side have won seven of their last ten National League games and the manager thinks this was the best of the lot.
“They played with such heart and such character,” he said following the 2-0 win.
“They’ve got big hearts, every single one of them - they showed everyone what they’re all about.
“To beat the league leaders like that tells you everything. The boys were running on empty toward the end but there was no let up.
“Orient are a very good side but we were worthy winners, it shows how much we’ve come on in a few months,” added the former Weymouth, Dagenham and Woking manager.
“The fans see what we’re trying to do and how we want to do it. It’s becoming what we want it to be.”
