Fleet Complete Brandy Signing

Ebbsfleet United have been able to complete the signing of former Manchester United youth striker Febian Brandy after receiving international clearance.

The 28-year-old, who can also play in an attacking role from the flanks, was most recently playing in Thailand for Ubon UMT United and has international caps for St Kitts & Nevis, having played for England from under-16 to under-20 level.

His arrival at the Fleet comes following news that Darren McQueen’s knee injury has ruled him out for the season.

Brandy was at Old Trafford from the age of nine, from 1998 to 2010, playing in the FA Youth Cup Final of 2007 against Liverpool alongside the likes of Danny Welbeck and Danny Drinkwater.

While at United, he played on loan for Swansea City, Hereford United and Gillingham before joining Notts County permanently in 2010.

After a spell in Greece, he signed for Walsall, going on to feature for Sheffield United, Rotherham United, Crewe Alexandra and Rochdale before an eighteen-month stint in Thailand’s top division.

Fleet boss Daryl Mcmahon told the club`s media manager Ed Miller: “He’s moved back to the UK with his family and he’s a good age, with ambition still. He’s a pacy player with skill and he’ll need to get a bit fitter, but he’ll be a threat for us”.
