John Flanagan admitted it was the result that mattered for him after they were able to gain their first victory over FC United of Manchester in the Vanarama National League North, writes Tom Feaheny.
Speaking to the club's website after the points had been secured he said.
"It is nice to get that monkey off the back, it was scrappy, I've got to say I was disappointed with the performance but to get the three points is something I'm delighted with, to beat a team around us
"I thought we looked more likely to score than them, they had possession for parts, we gave the ball away cheaply.
Paul Marshall had to come off due to injury, with Flanagan revealing they will have to see if he is available for Monday.
"We will just have to monitor him, it looks like he will be okay but we will have to wait and see, he's got a knock on the top of his foot, it's an honest challenge."
They next face Leamington at Tameside Stadium on Monday evening with Flanagan
"Teams that come up to this league, can take a little bit of time to adjust and get used to it, it's a turnaround for both sides with that second game in a few days."
