First New Signing for Chester

By Steve Whitney

Chester FC have announced that defender Blaine Hudson has joined the Blues for the 2016/17 Vanarama National League season.

Hudson, 24, arrives at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium having spent the last two seasons at neighbours Wrexham; making seventy-three appearances and scoring 7 goals – including one at Chester in the Cross-Border Derby in 2014 which the Blues won in added time.

The centre-back, a graduate of Cambridge United’s youth system, is Jon McCarthy’s first new summer signing.

Hudson said: “I wanted to stay in the local area and I’d always enjoyed playing at Chester – it’s where I want to be.

“Credit to Jon McCarthy and Ian Sharps for what they’ve done since they took charge, when I came to meet them before they know it’s a clean slate to have a go this season and I want to be a part of that.

“I’m still very ambitious and want to help push this team up the table”.
