FA Cup Headlines Are Written With Big Shocks Aplenty!

By Sam Elliott

It was a day of dreams for some of our National League North and South clubs in the FA Cup with big results in the league, too.

Chippenham Town stunned League One’s 2017 quarter finalists Lincoln City in one of the results of the weekend.

The upset was confirmed when Harry Parsons scored a minute before half-time, sparking wild scenes as the Bluebirds turned the tables on Mark Kennedy’s Imps.

National League North leaders King’s Lynn Town were superb as they won 1-0 at Doncaster Rovers - Gold Omotayo with the winner seven minutes from time.

Farnborough, pictured, go through after a brilliantly late 2-0 win at Sutton United.

National League clubs did the business too - Chesterfield got the better of League Two Northampton Town, Armando Dobra with the magical moment.

FC Halifax were right to be wary of Ebbsfleet United - Rakish Bingham’s winner saw the Fleet go through.

Weymouth fully deserved their replay at Plough Lane, Ahkeem Rose’s free-kick made it 1-1 against AFC Wimbledon.

Tom Walker earned AFC Fylde a second go at Gillingham while Joe Sbarra’s leveller means Solihull Moors and Hartlepool United go again on Tuesday week.

In-form Charlie Ruff handed Chelmsford City a replay in the 92nd minute as they punished Barnet late on.

Josh Walker edged Dagenham through at Maidenhead United with Buxton and Boreham Wood also in the hat after coming through their first round ties.

There was no luck for Oxford City, Taunton Town, York City or Gateshead.

In the National League South, Dartford go back to the top.

They took over on Tuesday night before Ebbsfleet’s win at Havant changed things again.

But yet another league win - their ninth in ten games - came 4-1 against in-form Braintree. Samir Carruthers got two.

Havant & Waterlooville keep the pressure on, Jake McCarthy and Mo Faal on target against Hemel Hempstead Town.

Paul Barnes’ Dulwich Hamlet recovered from blowing a 2-0 lead to eventually defeat Hampton 3-2.

Bath City got the job done at Tonbridge, Danny Greenslade hit the winner.

Shaun Jeffers put the seal on St Albans City’s 3-1 win at ten man Slough Town.

Charlie Walker got on the scoresheet as Eastbourne Borough beat Cheshunt 3-0. Hungerford and Worthing fired blanks.

As King’s Lynn Town threw an FA Cup party, the chasing pack upped the heat in the National League North.

A double from James Armson put Brackley Town top, a 3-0 win over Northants rivals Kettering Town kelt Roger Johnson’s fine start going.

Mark Beck was the Darlington hero again, his double claimed a 2-1 win at Kidderminster Harriers.

Matty Cornish also scored twice - Blyth Spartans beat AFC Telford 3-0 in the big game down the bottom.

Kurt Willoughby has been outstanding for Chester, his effort beat Bradford PA.

Jordan Archer's double, with the winner ten minutes from time, secured Southport three valuable points at home to Chorley.
