FA Cup Draw Takes Place As National League Clubs Enter

By Sam Elliott

The National League clubs have joined the FA Cup party - and today’s draw has thrown up some fantastic ties.

The fourth qualifying round takes place next month and things are really getting serious.

Teams are just 90 minutes away from a potential money-spinner with a League One or League Two club - and then who knows what as the competition gathers pace.

Three-time semi-finalists Oldham Athletic take on FC Halifax Town while Gateshead have a tricky test at either Hednesford or Shifnal Town.

Sutton United take on fellow Surrey side Chertsey Town as Slough Town and Woking were drawn together.

Headline makers of previous years are in still in. Boreham Wood face Carshalton Athletic while Kidderminster Harriers meet Guiseley, who flattered Scunthrope on Saturday, if they beat Buxton in a replay.

Maidstone United - who were one game away from the quarter-finals last year - have a hame game against Ebbsfleet United.

Tamworth welcome Robbie Savage's Macclesfield while Altrincham meet Solihull Moors and Southend United go to Eastleigh.

Matches will take place on Saturday 12 October, with the right to play in the first round which beings in early November.

Fourth round qualifying winners earn £9,375 from the prize pot, with defeated sides banking a £3,125 cheque.
