Thirty-four-year-old Beevers re-joined Lincoln in May 2015.
He made nineteen appearances last season but was awarded a benefit match by the Imps in July against Walsall after the popular defender was forced to quit full-time football after suffering a ruptured patella tendon during the 2-0 victory over Boreham Wood in October 2016.
In his first spell, Beevers made 175 appearances for the Imps in all competitions between 2005 and 2009.
The former Welsh under-21 international initially joined Lincoln on loan from Boston United in February 2005 before the move was made permanent with the former Ipswich Town youngster joining for an undisclosed fee.
A successful 2006/07 campaign saw Beevers named as the supporters’ player of the season, and he spent a further two years with the Imps before joining Colchester United.
Injuries restricted his playing time there and he subsequently joined Mansfield after a year with Walsall before helping Stags win the Conference (National League) and re-establish themselves back in the Football League.
Defender Adam Smith has re-joined Trinity from National League North rivals Alfreton Town.
Smith was born in Huddersfield and played in the Huddersfield & District League for Lepston Highlanders.
Whilst playing for Kirkheaton he was spotted by Chesterfield and invited to a trial match, then being offered a place on their Scholarship scheme.
He began training with the first-team during the 2001/02 season and was named on the bench for their 1-0 win at the Madejeski Stadium against Reading on December 2001.
He made his debut in a Johstone`s Paint Trophy match against Port Vale in November 2002 and his League debut in September 2003.
He was offered a two-year professional contract with the Spireites in March 2004.
Smith signed for York City on January 26th, for an undisclosed fee on a contract till the end of the 2009/10 season. He then signed a one-year contract with then- league rivals Mansfield Town in May before signing for Lincoln on a one-year contract in June 2012.
He later joined newly-promoted FC Halifax Town in July 2013.
He left Halifax for their National League rivals Wrexham two years later.
In November 2015 he went on loan to Guiseley AFC until January 2016 and a positive impression led to him signing permanently for the Lions.
He signed for Alfreton in October 2016 and last season made a dozen appearances in all competitions, scoring 3 goals.
This term he has started four games and come off the bench on two other occasions.
