Guiseley manager Adam Lockwood says the hard work for himself started immediately after they stayed up last season.
The Lions scored a dramatic equaliser against Solihull Moors on the last day of the season then ensured they remained in the Vanarama National League.
Lockwood who enters his first pre-season as a manager after taking over from Mark Bower after five games. He says they are prepared well for the start of the campaign
"There has been a lot of things that have happened both on and off the pitch since that day. We have already ensured that a good number of the squad that have picked up results for this side have stayed."
"It is an exciting time for the club, a lot of changes are being made with the new chairman coming in. There are deals that will be announced sooner rather than later as well."
A majority of the squad from last season has been kept and so far two players have been added with Joe Green and Reece Thompson joining the Nethermoor Park club.
With most teams in the league being full-time, the Lions have decided to stay part-time for this season, Lockwood though believes that they can offer something that players want.
"It is a real team effort, we have players who admitted they enjoyed playing their football again. That's what we can bring to players who are dropping out the Football League."
