Ex-Ajax Youngster Signs For Chorley

Former Ajax youngster Rene Osei Kofi has linked up with Chorley ahead of this weekend’s trip to Alfreton Town.

The 25-year-old, who has played for Aris Limassol in Cyprus and Almere City in Holland, has signed a contract with the Magpies after impressing in training during the past month.

The Ghanaian-Dutch footballer is known for his pace and is naturally a right-back with the ability to play in a number of positions.

He said: “Chorley are a massive club at National League North level. If selected I can’t wait to get out there and play for the Magpies. I like what I’ve seen so far and delighted they’ve given me this opportunity to progress in my career.”

Manager Matt Jansen said: “He’s looked very sharp and fit in training - impressing everyone. We have offered him a short-term deal and will hopefully become an asset for us looking ahead. During his career he’s played most of his games at right-back, although I see him further up the field. Without question he’ll help us and he’s hungry for his chance. With his quality, he’ll bring a lot to the football team”.
