Everything That Happened On Tuesday Night

By Sam Elliott

It was action a plenty on a busy Tuesday night across the three divisions.

There were four games in the National League as Oldham Athletic found Altrincham a tough nut to crack again.

They did though come from 2-0 down to share the spoils as James Norwood and Josh Lundstram rescued a point.

Southend United, pictured, kept their promotion hopes alive as they defeated FC Halifax Town. Gus Scott-Morriss scored once again and so did Tom Hopper and Charley Kendall in the 3-0 win.

Junior Morias made an instant impact at Woking as his two goals secured a 2-1 victory at Dagenham & Redbridge - his former club.

Manny Deiseruvwe was back in scoring form as Hartlepool United grabbed a point at home to Tamworth in a game that ended 2-2.

All the top three dropped points in the National League North.

Leaders Chester drew 1-1 with Kidderminster, Ashley Hemmings levelled after Harrison Burke put the hosts in front early with a big home crowd watching.

Scunthorpe United couldn’t make the most of it but took a point at home to Curzon Ashton when Mo Fadera equalised in the 93rd minute.

Brackley Town went down 4-1 at in-form Chorley. Ever reliable defender Mark Ellis scored twice, as did Mike Calveley.

Oliver Ewing got a priceless winner for Buxton at home to South Shields as Dan Turner put the seal on Leamington’s success against Warrington.

Finlay Sinclair-Smith hit two for Marine as they beat relegation rivals Rushall while it was a good night for Hereford and Peterborough Sports who both won.

Rhys Murphy’s late goal kept Dorking Wanderers’ noses in front in the National League South title race.

His 93rd minute goal saw off Tonbridge Angels, and there was good news elsewhere with rivals dropping points.

Torquay United’s late leveller at Worthing in an eventful game saw Cody Cooke leave the hero.

Boreham Wood lost again as Angelo Balanta scored the decisive goal for Hornchurch.

Aveley stunned Maidstone United at the Gallagher Stadium but Eastbourne Borough did follow the script - the Sport’s are strong at home and Jason Adigun scored twice in their conclusive victory against Hampton & RB.

Alfie Bendle got a late winner for St Albans City at home to Slough Town as Sam Youngs scored once again for Enfield Town, who were too good for Welling United.

Scott Wilson’s double for Bath City helped sink Weymouth as Callum Watts’ winner was brilliant for Salisbury at Weston-super-Mare.

Elsewhere Chippenham Town defeated Chesham 2-0, Tom Mehew and Harry Parsons made it onto the scoresheet.
