Evatt: We’re Happy To Be The Written Off League Leaders!

Ian Evatt is more than happy for Barrow to be the leaders few are tipping to win it.

The Bluebirds stormed to the top of the National League on Saturday with a stunning 3-0 win at in-form Notts County.

Goals by Dior Angus, John Rooney and Jack Hindle meant the club have taken 30 points from their last 11 matches.

But Evatt still isn’t sure his team are getting the recognition they are due.

He said: “I’m more than happy for us to be written off.

“Often we don’t get the credit we deserve. Few people outside of Barrow and outside of our dressing room will have predicted it.

“Maybe people won’t have expected that from us but it was a fantastic performance.”

Now they have two home games back-to-back against Barnet and Chorley.

“We are still under the radar but it doesn’t bother me at all,” added Evatt, who has just signed a new deal at Holker Street.

“People can say what they want about us, but we will carry on and continue to work hard and see where it takes us.

“The longer we can go under the radar the better.”
