Evatt: We Should Have Won Our Last Four Matches

Ian Evatt is getting a little bit fed up of the hard luck stories.

The Barrow manager believes his team deserve a lot more points than they have on the board so far.

Especially lately, when his side have played well but not got the wins they perhaps merited.

Evatt says the first six weeks of National League football have been a big learning experience but he reckons the club are on course to avoid a struggle like last season.

The latest bit of bad fortune came at Boreham Wood, where the hosts levelled three minutes into injury time when Keiran Murtagh hit an unstoppable shot.

The manager said: “I was really gutted for the boys, it was a bitter pill to swallow. I thought we were on for a deserved 1-0 win.

“Their great goal with the last few kicks has really killed us.

“We were unlucky, it’s the way things are going for us at the moment and it’s hard for the lads.

“I think that was the fourth game in a row where we deserved to win the match but we have come away with without the three points.”

The Bluebirds hope to end that run when they welcome Maidenhead United.
