Evatt Remains Upbeat Despite Another Away Loss

Barrow boss Ian Evatt said he was pleased with his side’s performance despite another defeat on the road, writes Tom Scott.

The Bluebirds’ have been impressive at Holker Street but have struggled away from home so far this season.

Speaking to the club’s website after the game, Evatt said it was an all too familiar story for his side.

“It’s a case of deja vu. Away from home things aren’t going for us,” he said. “We’ve dominated, and they’ve probably had three shots on target and three goals from our errors.

“We can’t keep coming away from home, controlling games and not winning them.

“But I’m pleased that the lads have done what I asked them to do, we’re still a work in progress and there are things to work on.

“It’s fine lines away from home and the tiny things are costing us because I thought it was a better performance than Saturday [against Braintree].

“We’ve got to be better on set pieces, sometimes with heading a ball it’s about how much you want it and that’s something we’ve got to work on.

He added, “We’ve got to go and win a game on Saturday now, put today behind us and learn the lessons from it.”
