Evatt Never Doubted His Players As They Ready For Wrexham

Ian Evatt wants his Barrow players to prove they’ve turned a corner by taking a title chaser’s scalp tonight.

The Bluebirds ended a six-game losing run by beating Aldershot 2-0 away from home on Saturday.

But as they look to build a winning sequence, a visit from wounded Wrexham probably wasn’t on their wish list.

Evatt’s wide won’t be running scared though, and he thinks a climb up the National League table is now achievable.

“It’s been a very difficult last month for us, it’s been painful for everyone at the club,” said the manager.

“I understand the fans were getting worried but I wasn’t. I knew the players are good enough and we knew things would turn.

“On Saturday at Aldershot we were outstanding. Now we need to take that into Tuesday night and show our fans we’re on the right path and hopefully we can build on the weekend.

“We’ve now got some confidence back. It couldn’t have come at a better time.”
