Evatt Knows What Separates His Boys From The Men

The only difference Barrow manager Ian Evatt can see between his side and the teams as the top is a ruthlessness in front of goal.

The Bluebirds boss says there was evidence of that on Tuesday night when Leyton Orient left Holker Street with a 3-2 win.

Evatt has spoken to the club’s website and doesn’t think he team are too far off those battling for promotion.

But he knows to realise their full potential they can’t keep turning their noses up when opportunities present themselves.

“We deserved to win it,” claimed the former Chesterfield centre-back, 37. “We are creating more chances than any other team in this divison, we just aren’t putting them away – and that’s the difference.

“Again, we’ve not probably been clinical enough, but we’ve outplayed a team who are pretty much top of this league and we have to be very proud of that.

“When you see a team like Leyton Orient come here, to little old Barrow, and celebrating like they did at the final whistle I think it shows we had them rattled.

“We were very good, it was just that little bit of a clinical edge that we missed.

“At the minute the only criticism of our lads, who create a hell of a lot, is that they don’t finish them when we do.

“But one of these days we will and when we do whoever we play will be on the end of a bad result.”

This Saturday Barrow face Aldershot at home before tough matches at Wrexham and Eastleigh.
