Evatt Comes Up With A New Way To Get Back On Track

Barrow will try and give their season a kick-start by beating the club’s stars of the future.

The National League side have a free weekend having been knocked out of the FA Cup by Chorley.

They have filled the gap by arranging a friendly with their under-21 side at Holker Street and hope to gain some confidence back.

Manager Ian Evatt isn’t unhappy with his players’ current level of performance despite being near the bottom of the form guide.

Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Ebbsfleet was their fifth defeat in a row.

“We were excellent, we were fantastic and I’m really proud of them because they stepped up to the plate,” Evatt told the Evening Mail after the weekend loss in Kent.

“The way we moved the ball was back to how we were and how we are, we missed chance after chance in the first half and we missed chances again, second half.

“What’s got to change is that we’ve got to be more clinical.”

Barrow will play their young counterparts on Friday night.
