It's Another Holker Street Horror Show For The Bluebirds

By Sam Elliott

Barrow still haven’t won at home since October and Jamie Day bemoaned “the same old story”.

It’s now 11 Holker Street games without joy for the Bluebirds who missed the opportunity to put distance between themselves and the bottom four last night.

The 3-1 loss to AFC Fylde kept them deep in trouble with five months passing since their last home victory.

Ady Pennock’s team were second best in the quickly-rearranged game and assistant manager Jamie Day told the Barrow News & Mail that things must change and quickly.

“It’s the same old story,” Day them. “I thought in the first half, we played really well, pressed them and we were on the front foot.

“But at the minute, we’re giving away some silly goals; teams are not earning the goals they are getting and we’re getting punished for it at the minute.

“That’s why we’re down at the bottom of the table, because we’re making too many mistakes.

“I thought for the majority of the game we were on the front foot, played some good stuff and took the game to them, but if you keep making mistakes like we are then you end up where we are in the league.”
