Emirates FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round Draw

By Steve Whitney

Ties to be played on Saturday, October 14th.

The tie that jumped out amongst the draw for the Emirates FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round has to be the East London derby between Vanarama National League rivals Dagenham & Redbridge and Leyton Orient at Victoria Road.

The draw, split north and south, also produced a north-east gem as Evo-Stik League North newcomers South Shields` ground record will surely be tested again when they host National League neighbours Hartlepool United at Mariners Park.

Shields` former Ebac Northern League rivals Shildon, who started in the Extra Preliminary Round on August 5th, travel to Nethermoor to take on National League side Guiseley AFC.

The only other Step 5 side left in the competition, Hallmark Security League outfit 1874 Northwich, who many thought had achieved their hiatus when beating local rivals Northwich Victoria in an earlier round, face a trip to National League Solihull Moors if they can overcome Evo-Stik North outfit Ossett Town in this week`s replay.

Another fascinating tie pairs Ian Allinson`s National League South side St Albans City with the team he managed to several promotions in a long spell in charge, Boreham Wood.

Another team with a lot of FA Cup pedigree, Sutton United, face a potential banana skin in an away tie at Evo-Stik South West side Paulton Rovers, while Evo-Stik South Premier Hereford FC – the club formed out of the ashes of one of the most famous FA Cup clubs of all time – will test National League outfit Eastleigh at the Silverlake Stadium.
