The coach, who stepped in following the departure of Steve Davis, says he let himself and the team down by being sent to the stands in the first half.
In a fantastic game at Brisbane Road, ten man Orient battled back to secure a point - but their winless stretch goes on.
It’s now 13 National League games without success for Orient and the stand in boss cut a frustrated figure despite a spirited second half show a man down on Tuesday evening.
“We showed plenty of character but I felt it was my place to apologise to the players,” said Embleton.
“Even if I thought anything was good, indifferent or harsh it’s poor of me to do that. They boys look to me to lead them and I wasn’t there in the second half.
“I was there in spirit but it was poor on my part. That said we really produced after going down to ten men.
“Although I feel maybe we have let ourselves down after throwing away the lead we’ve got to be happy with our response after half-time.”
Embleton doesn’t know if he will be in charge for Saturday’s vital trip to Torquay.
“I’m not sure, whether tonight has sped the process up or not remains to be seen,” he said.
“I’ll be honest I am disappointed. Not by the performances as such, more than we have only taken two points from six. I really wanted to get four from these two matches.”
Embleton was full of praise for Jobi McAnuff, the veteran hit a fantastic equaliser to seal a point.
“It was a great hit and it doesn’t matter that he’s not as young as he used to be,” added the coach.
“He’s still got those kind of moments in him. It was a brilliant goals.”
