Before the weekend, the Pilgrims had won only once in six – a run that saw them crash out of the FA Cup last week to Peterborough Sports.
But after a second-half turnaround saw them overcome Curzon Ashton, manager Elliott knew how much it meant to the supporters.
“I am pleased for the fans that they could enjoy their Saturday evening,” he told Lincolnshire Live.
“I know I had a terrible week, so it must have been horrendous for them. It’s not nice having to tell people that you have lost in the manner we did.
“I have told the player to enjoy these highs, because game in this league are hard to win.”
The win leaves the Lincolnshire outfit in seventh place and they now face an agonising wait for their next league game against Blyth Spartans on October 13.
