Elliott Applauds Boston After First Win

Boston United boss Craig Elliott knows how important it was to get a victory and they did just that defeating York City 2-1.

The Pilgrims defeated the side in the play-off places and in doing so moved a step closer to getting out the drop zone, writes Tom Feaheny.

"It's great for everyone at the club, behind the scenes and on the pitch, we must use this win as a stepping stone," Elliott said to the club's website.

"It showed a real character to get back from a goal down, we played on the front foot, we had a good tempo, the hard work and endeavour meant we deserved it.

"This victory is something we can be proud of and use it for the next games, it gives us a boost going into Tuesday for training."

Boston United were boosted with the news that Brad Abbott had joined from Buxton for an undisclosed fee, a deal Elliott is delighted about.

"He is a player I looked at when I was at Shaw Lane, I've watched him for 18 months, I can see the potential he has."
