Another National League player has sealed a Football League move as Wealdstone attacker Abo Eisa has signed for League One promotion hopefuls Shrewsbury Town.
It’s the second big move from the Stones after defender Ciaron Brown to Cardiff City a month ago.
He left the club with a parting gift - a wonder goal against Weston last weekend earned him even more admirers. Watch His Great Strike Here.
Wealdstone Manager Bobby Wilkinson told the club’s website: “Congratulations to Abo and we wish him all the very best. I am a very proud manager as Abo has developed tremendously with the guidance and work of my management team since we took over earlier in the season.
“The player by his own admission had lost his way and needed a fresh approach and a guiding hand to get him back on track to show his full potential. A lot of credit also goes to the Chairman for securing a very good deal for the club.”
Wealdstone Chairman Peter Marsden added: “We are delighted for Abo who has done remarkably well over the last few months under Bobby Wilkinson but it will of course be a loss to the side at an important time in the season. However, we have been able to secure one of the highest transfer deals in recent times for the club. We will be searching for a replacement to assist Bobby’s plans.
“In the final analysis our hands were tied with the release of Abo due to goals scored trigger clause in his contract and we made every attempt to secure a loan back deal but this was not possible despite hard negotiations.
“We are undoubtedly victims of our own success with Abo in one sense, but the deal agreed is an exceptionally good one with very valuable sell-on clauses and other provisions”
