Edinburgh Wishing February Would Hurry Itself Up!

Justin Edinburgh says he is already looking forward to the transfer window closing.

National League clubs can still add to their squad after this month of course but the Premier League and Football League clubs have three weeks to do their business.

Two of Orient’s key players have been linked with big moves in January.

Strikers Macauley Bonne and Josh Koroma are the subject of speculation in the press - and the manager has provided an update on the situation.

Edinburgh said: “There have been no bids received, that’s all there is to say really.

“We rate both players very highly as everyone knows but there has been no offers put to the club.”

Edinburgh saw his team defeated 3-0 at home to Salford City on Saturday, a result which really closed the gap at the top.

“Nothing is ever or was ever going to be won in the first week of January,” he said.

“There are going to be plenty of twists and plenty of turns to come. It’s very exciting but we were never going to get ahead of ourselves if we won and we won’t overreact because we have lost.

“The fans stayed with us but I expected them to. They have been fantastic since I came to the club.

“We’re still top of the table but nothing was ever going to be decided in the New Year.”
