Durrell, 26, was Tamworth's top scorer in the National League North last season after making his switch from Wrexham in the summer.
The attack-minded midfielder rose to prominence in a five-year spell at Hednesford Town, where he scored an impressive 109 goals in 240 appearances.
Durrell said: "I had a lot of options from the league below, but I want to play at the highest possible level. You've seen that at every level of football, a team can do well if they're a close tight knit group."
Durrell becomes the Jon McCarthy's second summer signing after Blaine Hudson's arrival at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium last week.
