The sponsorship deal will mean that Peninsula, founded by Salford-born entrepreneur Peter Done, will be the main title sponsor of Salford City for the next five years.
The newly-named `The Peninsula Stadium` was unveiled by the Class of 92’s former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Like Salford City, Peninsula is a real local success story.
From small beginnings in 1983 with an office on Bexley Square in Salford, Peninsula now employs over 1,000 people in the UK and 2,500 worldwide, with offices not only across the UK but in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
More than 75,000 clients use its services to help with their employment law, HR and health & safety issues.
With Peninsula’s headquarters just a few miles away from Salford City, a key goal of the partnership will be building on Peninsula’s local roots in the community by engaging with the people of Salford on a number of wide-ranging opportunities that show their long-term and sustainable commitment to the area.
Peter Done, Group Managing Director and Founder of Peninsula, commented: “Salford City was a great fit for Peninsula. We operate on the same guiding principles; we both like to shake up traditional ways of doing things; to press forward when others rest on their laurels; to keep improving, and to offer the best service possible to our clients, whether it be in the office or on the pitch.
“Salford, as a city and community, means a huge amount to me; it was great to be able to contribute in a special way to the city where I was born, raised and still live, whilst raising the profile of Peninsula through this fantastic sponsorship opportunity.”
Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt (CO92) said: “We are delighted to have Peninsula on board and for our home to now be called 'The Peninsula Stadium' is fantastic. When we were looking for partners, Peninsula seemed the perfect choice, a local born company, with offices in Salford and a major employer in the North-West area. That was important to us, for the culture of the club, as well as the local area that people from the area invested. Peninsula's knowledge and business expertise will be valued and is another step in our vision for SCFC. We are excited and proud of our stadium and very much looking forward to working with Peninsula, it will be more than just naming rights, it will be about engaging and working alongside the community.”
An All-Stars match to mark the launch of the sponsorship will be held on Sunday, 12th November 2017 at The Peninsula Stadium.
