Draw Feels Like A Defeat For Still Undefeated Chorley

Chorley manager Jamie Vermiglio says the late sucker punch at AFC Telford United felt every inch like a defeat.

The Magpies were pegged back at the death
thanks to Henry Cowans at the New Bucks Head.

Although table toppers Chorley are now 14 games unbeaten, those two late dropped points sees their lead cut to five points in the National League North.

Vermiglio didn’t try and hide his disappointment but told the club’s twitter account that the setback will be kept in perspective.

“It feels like a defeat, it really does,” said the manager.

“We are gutted to be honest, absolutely gutted. We worked so hard but we couldn’t take all three points home with us.

“I think maybe could have slowed the game down a little more than we did, that’s what maybe cost us.

“If we would have kept our shape a little bit better then we probably would have won it.

“We have got a really honest bunch and let’s remember we are now 14 games unbeaten, that’s something to be proud of.

“We will take the positives from it but to come in having let in a goal with one of the last kicks off the game really hurts.”
