A 90th minute opening day winner against East Thurrock wasn’t the only late drama.
Turning the game totally on its head in the closing stages against St Albans City on Tuesday night left the new manager completely aware they won’t be doing things the easy way.
“I think everyone thought it was just going to be one of those nights,” Dowson said in his post-match interview with BBC Surrey.
“We didn’t play well on Saturday but this game we did. We had chance after chance after chance, we created so much.
“The lads have done it themselves, I am not going to take any credit at all.
“When you are a new team you have to find character. They’ve done that and fair play to them.I honestly thought we were going to nick it and we did.
“There’s still a fair bit to do with our finishing on the training ground but six points from two games, that’s fantastic.”
