Dragons Draw Gives Waddock Something To Be Happy About!

Gary Waddock saluted his walking wounded after Aldershot kept title chasing Wrexham at bay.

Things have been so bad for the shots that injuries left them with no alternative but to field an academy team in their FA Trophy replay at Bedford Town.

But the first team players they did have available held firm against the Red Dragons, a 0-0 draw which brings optimism heading into a busy few weeks.

“It’s not a good end to the week that we’ve had, it’s a good end to a couple of months that we’ve had! Waddock told ShotsTV.

“This really gives us something to build on - everybody gave it everything. We’ve got a good base now going into this really busy period and I am delighted with them.

“Everyone is aware of the situation we’re in with injuries. We had to field an academy team in the FA Trophy and I think people understand why.

“Wrexham are having a very good season so this was a really challenging game for us.

“We’ve not been able to get any consistency into our play because of the changes we have had to make but they showed out there that we’ve got good players.”
