Dragons Catch Fire But County Are Breathing Down New Leaders’ Necks

By Sam Elliott

We have new National League leaders after yet more late drama in a division you can’t take your eyes off.

Paul Mullin’s penalty six minutes into injury time handed Wrexham a 2-1 win at Oldham - and top spot.

That is because Chesterfield came unstuck, losing their unbeaten run as they went down at home to Maidenhead United.

Notts County are now second, Macaulay Langstaff with two goals as the Magpies saw off Altrincham 3-1.

Solihull Moors’ brave fightback against Bromley came with ten men, Josh Kelly and Alex Reid in stoppage time salvage a very unlikely 2-2 draw.

There were some very high scoring games elsewhere.

Dorking Wanderers hit hapless Dagenham for five as James McShane again scored twice.

York City we’re simply outstanding as they also hit five - Barnet well beaten with Lenell John-Lewis as the double.

Woking look challengers this year - a 4-0 win at FC Halifax Town as Reece Grego-Cox netted twice.

The live BT Sport game saw Boreham Wood get back to winning ways as they saw off Maidstone United 3-1, Lee Ndlovu put the seal on an impressive win.

Jake Hyde got the winner for Southend United as they beat Yeovil Town 1-0 at Roots Hall.

The big game down the bottom ended honours even as Torquay United and Scunthorpe drew 1-1.

Rhys Browne continued his excellent season as Wealdstone won 2-1 at Aldershot, he got both the Stones goals.

Daniel Jarvis snatched a point for Gateshead at home to Eastleigh after Ryan Hill put the visitors ahead after 20 minutes.
