Dowson Tells It Like It Is Ahead Of Watford’s Visit To Woking

You can’t beat a little bit of positively before a big game.

“We’ll turn up on Sunday, they’ll beat us without too many problems then we’ll go home and get on with the rest of our season,” said Alan Dowson.

Woking’s manager has always told it as it is and the build up to the club’s FA Cup game with Premier League Watford took that to a whole new level.

“To say we can beat them is bordering on the ridiculous,” he added.

“Since we got the draw people have said to me every day that I must be so excited but the truth is I’m not.

“Not because we won’t win, but mainly because we’ve been so busy with matches.

“On the day of the game we will believe we can win it, because we've got to. But realistically we won't.

“But it’ll be a great occasion for the club that’s for sure. Hopefully the players will do the club proud.

“But the National League South is what’s really important. Once we get whacked by Watford we can focus on Welling United!”

Watford manager Javi Garcia says the game is vital and they are treating the third round tie seriously.

"I don’t want to see the next game as a having a different importance, it’s very important,” he said.

"I don’t know any game our supporters don't want to win. The next game is the most important and that’s always the mentality we have. The next game we need to win, in any competition."
